Why a girl can never have enough shoes!

The Shopping Trip..

Now, I don’t want to lump everyone in the same bracket here, there are many girls who don’t give a second thought to the shoes they wear, and that’s absolutely fine – there are some however, that have every colour, shape, design and style known to man. And I’m going to tell you why.

You’re walking past a shop window with your best friend in tow and spot the most magnificent pair of shoes. They are high, but not too high (the ones you’ve got at home, you LOVE as well, but only worn them once because they were just a bit too high). “I mean these are similar, but I’ll be able to wear them more because they’ll be more comfortable” you reason with yourself. Just one quick try on, that won’t harm anyone.

Fast forward half an hour, you’ve got 12 boxes surrounding you, the shop assistant getting slightly annoyed at going back and forth into the stock room, but you really don’t have THIS colour! And, it’ll go sooo well with that dress you bought two weeks ago from Zara. Now that, is an interesting toe shape. It says ‘powerful’ but not ‘domineering’ – perfect for the work do coming up.

It’s not our fault girls..

The problem with us women is, the different shapes and styles all mean something different to us. A boot is casual in the Autumn/Winter. A sandal is casual in the summer. A court shoe is perfect for work, but can be too formal for a Sunday catch-up. Don’t even get me started on a trainer. It’s such a dilemma, so we buy them all.

The men in our lives of course can’t begin to contemplate this scenario as a brogue suits pretty much all scenarios, and if not, a trainer will do. The cupboard stacked high of shoe boxes brings on anxiety for him, but it manages to skip a heartbeat in a woman. This endless choice gives women a sense of unparalleled excitement (along with a small hit of dopamine!).

So girls, don’t even try to explain it to your man, he won’t get it. But you do and that’s all that matters!

Until next time,
