Life’s Magic

Hello Roses,

I want to do a blog post this week on the magical coincidences of life. That space in between fate and proactivity where progress manifests. I’ve often been told, especially from my Dad that you have to meet chance halfway – you have to be in the right place at the right time for a magical moment to happen. With the digital era, you don’t necessarily need to leave the house for that to happen. A quick message on Instagram, or trying various email addresses in the hope one is correct can do the trick.

For me however, last week I did leave the house and went to my old school as they had my GCSE certificates to pick up. I decided to visit my old Business BTEC teacher (yeah, didn’t get the grades for real business!) to tell her what I had been up to since I left in 2013. I was chatting to her about Lucy Rose and shoes when her colleague announced that he plays golf with the owner of a well known high street shoe brand. My face lit up, my mind started whirling and I enjoyed a brief all encompassing happiness for life’s beautiful synergy. Just a week previous, I was thinking about going into said shop and asking whether the owner is ever around for me to chat to. I now have his name, the fact he likes golf (and so do I), we both attended the same secondary school and a mutual connection!

Now, some might put that down to luck or fate, but I wasn’t going to go to the school that day. My dad was going to go. I said that I’d rather go in the hope of seeing a teacher or two and how great it was I did. As a solo entrepreneur, I can feel so guilty whenever I’m not working on my business or sitting in front of my laptop.  I even remember waiting for my teacher and thinking “God this is a waste of time, I don’t know if I’m going to see her. I should be working, it’s my day to work on my business”. However, that hour I took off the business may turn into creating a valuable connection for the future.

Trust the timing of your life and have faith in the Universe. But make sure you get out of your chair and make the journey to meet it in the middle. Wonderful things can happen there.

Until next time,
Emily x
