The Three E's

Hello Roses,

After talking about a few topics that interest me or I am learning about at the time, I thought for this week’s blog post, I’d come back to Lucy Rose’s core values. Empowerment, Elegance and Exclusivity (or the three E’s as I call them). Let me take you through them and explain why they are important to our company.

Empowerment – This is the emotional side of the company. You know the feeling when you put on your heels, you feel like you’re ready to face the day and whatever it has planned? This is the power of shoes. I want Lucy Rose customers to go away feeling empowered and with increased self confidence. I would like my customers to buy my product because they have pride in who they are and what they have achieved. There are those women who maybe get bought presents from their partners, but I am going after the woman who wants to pat herself on the back because she’s surpassed her own expectations and she deserves to treat herself. This is an incredibly strong emotion, and we believe tenacity should be rewarded.

Elegance – This is the aesthetic part of the company. There are competitors out there who have attempted to solve the same problem but they don’t scream elegance to me. This is why it is at the forefront of my mind and the design has been aesthetically driven rather than functionally driven. So girls, don’t worry these shoes are going to look amazing! There will be a stand out feature that will ensure you know you are buying Lucy Rose shoes and everyone will be envious.

Exclusivity – This relates to the area of the market we are aiming to enter and the selection of decisions we’re making in order to create an exclusive product. This shoe is to be high end. It’s an aspirational purchase for those who want to congratulate themselves on where they are, and excited for where they’re headed. Due to the nature of the problem, it’s not a cheap one to solve, so although I’m not sure how much they’ll retail at, they won’t be in the cheap section.

Lucy Rose’s mission statement is “empowering women one step at a time” (I was really proud of that when I thought of it!) because the more steps you take, the more empowered you will become. We are living in an era whereby women are being celebrated. For so long women have sacrificed and made way for the men to take centre stage, and it’s about time we had some of the limelight. My favourite film is Erin Brockovich and there’s a reason for that. Women are just as capable as men and we deserve all the applauds we get. Have a wonderful week Roses, and if there’s something that you’re scared to do, do it anyway. What’s the worst that could happen!?

Until next time,

Em x
